Changing direction from art school to hairdressing school in 1998 set Deb on a career path that has been both colourful and fascinating.
Originally a Norfolk girl, Deb moved to Brighton to work for Toni & Guy in the late Nineties – the Rock‘n’Roll era of hairdressing!
Her interaction with the fashion industry and session styling started here and took her to work at all the leading London-based academies.
Throughout her career with the company she became senior style director, salon & academy trainer, art team member and won a place on the prestigious ‘Breakthrough Team’ that worked hair at numerous shows and events such as London Fashion Week, Salon International and Clothes Show Live as well as various television/media appearances.
Deb founded Hairsmiths in 2011 as a label.m concept salon. This enabled Deb to start out as an independent trader, whilst retaining label.m retail and creative projects such as London Fashion Week and label.m product expert programmes.
As a writer and columnist, Deb has written monthly articles for ‘Hairsmiths How To…’ and Resident magazine’s Hair Expert section, and is a board member of Norwich Fashion Week and Show Coordinator for the team.
In 2016 she won the label.m award for Concept Product Expert of the Year.
Deb works four days in salon and on location by request for regular session styling and bridal work.
